i left my heart in tokyo

by Rachel Lynch

Little weetzie bat blonde in Los Angeles. Sipping cappuccinos in silverlake and eating dinosaur-shaped pasta. She dreamed about falling in love every night. The city of angels was upon her, and she spent most her nights out around the city. Sunset and Hollywood, she drank margaritas outside under the mercury moon with boys. Handsome hollywood dreamer types, the ones that had aspirations galore. She sat outside, eating the salt off the rims and talking about her dreams, but she wasn't really sure where she was going next. California brought her high-highs and low-lows, there wasn't really anything in the middle. 70 degree days and new friends. Long car rides to thai food and playing dress up in gothic cathedrals. LA was alive to her. It shook her little New York spirit and woke it right up. She left her heart there.

ready for the afterglow

by Rachel Lynch

We're ready for the afterglow. Cross country flights and strong attraction. It's like we're on the road and the only ones for us are the mad ones. Desirous of everything at the same time, smoke and mirrors. Snowflakes and sunsets. A warm glow to my vision, sitting on top of the west coast watching it float away. Jumping into a cab and making tea back in a warm Brooklyn apartment. I always leave. And when I do, I wonder why.

california roadtrippin'

by Rachel Lynch

Baby, I'm feeling free. Let's go get lost somewhere in the USA. I don't care what we eat or what we do. Those details get lost on the road. We shift our thinking to focus on the endless possibility. We change through wandering, and our walk with God takes a new path. The sun would remind us of how good God is, and how we must celebrate the life He has given us. Life is really about the journey, we only spend moments in the destination. We celebrated our victories all along the way. Do what is wisdom, do what you have peace about.

NYFW Day Four

by Rachel Lynch

Here's another look I sported during NYFW from Lulu's. I love this color blue, and I decided to pair it with these reflective Le Specs. My necklace is from a brand I've really been loving lately called Sparkles & Pop.

I had a seat at the Oscar De La Renta fashion show thanks to my friend, Nicole of Red Velvet Swimwear. Certainly, it was my most inspirational show of fashion week. Sitting there, behind Grace Coddington and amongst such influential people, I realize how much I really, really love fashion. And yes, that sounds stupid probably when you just read it, but it's like I had this moment, where I knew this was exactly the world I have wanted to be a part of since I was nine. Out of all the creative things I do, fashion is the most important to my heart. I see myself as a creative director, of a major brand or fashion magazine someday.

I think it's important to be remind why you love something sometimes. For me, it was the beautifully historic and stunning Oscar De La Renta show. It really made fashion week for me and inspired me to work even harder.

Right now, I'm enjoying the California sunshine far from fashion week, but I always know where my home is and I can't wait to be back in New York's energy next week.

NYFW Day Three

by Rachel Lynch

Here's my look from the third day of #NYFW. I linked up with Bri in the morning to shoot this outfit in the Gansevoort Hotel because it's just too damn cold outside. I'm kind of obsessed with this jacket, its by OBEY but was sent to me by Lulu's, so you can purchase it on their site. It's so soft and I've gotten so many compliments every time I've worn it. I decided to pair it up with this lace black dress, also from Lulus. They always hook me up with the best dresses. They've got a huge selection. So of course when they wanted to partner for fashion week, I was like "YAAAAS!"

Hehe, I hope you enjoy this look! More from Lulu's & I to come!

twice as hard

by Rachel Lynch

"There were days of no surprise. On the wing, when nobody cared but you. Outright we tried to feel salvation. The proof of it was always you, boo.

If these times should signify my mistakes, please give me power. These are all of my creations, leaving me disavowed.

Twice as hard, I give it right back to you.

I relied on fewer lies to let you in. Become my lover, so with all of my relations. One caves in on another.

All those nights of many lives, following beautiful hours. These are all of my creations, verring me now towards you."

little dreamers

by Rachel Lynch

My mother once told me, "when you change the things you look at, the things you look at change." I didn't understand it then, but she was teaching me how to be in the world.

As you modify your thinking, your world will undergo pleasantly dramatic changes. One who understands others has true knowledge. The humbling of hearts and the connecting of souls is what fills. See the world and your place in it in a new light. If you realize you have enough, you are truly rich. As you think, so shall you be.

KNOW YOURSELF

by Rachel Lynch

Pray the real live forever. Pray the fakes get exposed. I ain't rockin' my jewelry, that's on purpose. Bitches want my spot and don't deserve it. I don't like how serious they take themselves. I've always been me, I guess I know myself.

This been where you find me at.

silverlake bird

by Rachel Lynch

She was a daughter of the tao, a free-bird. Everything in the sunshine settles into its own perfect place, so she followed suit. Rather than seeking more, she sought to be giving like the sun; the practice of gratitude is what leads us to the contented life. She sat sipping a soy latte in the sun, feeling it warming the very insides of her spirit, one who lives in accordance with nature does not go against the way of things. Surrounded by so much love on both the East and West coast, she felt humbled by the hearts of those around here. And once she felt loved, she decided to go inward and find who she was again. To return to the root is to find peace.
