You came around with your magic and taught me how to love again. Changing waves of truth and light, And open fields where we collected an assortment of peppermint colored daises. I used to sit above the city in my apartment. Alone, cold, and fragile. So many people sad and lonely downstairs, but all I can bring myself to do is sit above it all, watching and waiting. Now I can listen to the sounds of Christmas music and craft gingerbread houses with you. I can lick frosting from the tube and feel cookie dough between my fingers. The oven is warming my entire apartment and the candles are lit. Red shiny polish and tinsel surrounds us, but I’m still wearing my sunglasses and baking in shinny dresses and studs and platforms.
